The power of pink

As the calendar creeps into late September, many of us are turning our attention to football, cooler fall weather (or at least daytime temps under 90), and the holidays beyond. While I am certainly looking forward to not breaking a sweat every time I step outside, I am also excited to be participating this October in the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink initiative.

The Real Men Wear Pink Initiative

As a local business owner, this awesome program, gives me and men like me, an important role in the fight against breast cancer. Along with community leaders around the nation, we will use the power of pink to raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer initiatives, including innovative research, patient services, and education around screenings and risk reduction. I, for one, am honored to be participating in Real Men Wear Pink and doing my part to help attack cancer from every angle.

What Does It Take To Be A Real Man?

As a Real Men Wear Pink participant, my goal is to raise awareness and money to fight breast cancer. The importance of this mission cannot be overstated. And if I happen to be the top fundraiser, I will even win a prize and the bragging rights as the #1 Real Man. Both of which are merely icing on the cake to this all-important initiative.

As a Real Men Wear Pink candidate, I am committed to the following:

– Wearing pink throughout October

– Raising awareness for the cause through my social media networks

– Raising a minimum of $2,500 to help the American Cancer Society fight breast cancer

Meet The Men In Pink

Along with myself, The Real Men Wear Pink of Dallas are some of our cities finest community leaders and all-around good men in their own rights. Our local team includes Richard Rawlings, founder of Gas Monkey Garage and star of the hit Discovery show, “Fast N’ Loud”. Another team member I am proud to participate with is Brent Sheffield, President and CEO of locally-based Advancial Federal Union.

So far, the Real Men Wear Pink of Dallas have raised over $21,000 collection. The group’s goal is $50,000. So, we still have a long way to go! We need your help to get there!

How You Can Help

The best way for you to support me, the Real Men Wear Pink Initiative and the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives from breast cancer is to donate to the cause. Remember, I am out to raise $2,500, but I don’t want to stop there. I want to blow that goal out of the water. Please visit my personal page and donate today.

After you make your donation, you can track my progress on the Real Men Wear Pink National Leaderboard.

And please, spread the word! Feel free to share my page with friends, families and colleagues. The more people who get involved, the more money we raise in the fight against breast cancer.

Together with you and all of my fellow Real Men Wear Pink candidates we can have a very real and positive impact on this crucial fight against breast cancer. Thank you for your support!
