I write this most recent blog entry on the eve of 9/11, a date on the calendar that many of us will never forget. We never forget where we were when the tragic events occurred across our nation and the way we look at the world changed forever.
This week, we celebrate the freedom that we enjoy every day and remember those fallen heroes that sacrificed so much on 9/11. As a company that owes its start to community service, our Imaginuity culture is deeply ingrained with giving back to the community. I am truly blessed that Imaginuity supports our employees to take the time to give back. This year, myself and other members of Imaginuity will be volunteering at Freedom Day, a program that is established by Entrepreneurs For North Texas (EFNT).
As an interactive marketing agency, we will be contributing our creative skills to create an artistic mural of inspirational words at Zumwalt Middle School. More than 500 volunteers will be rolling up their sleeves to help spruce up this middle school with some much needed TLC. We will be painting, landscaping and building our way to provide improvements to the school. Truly a fantastic event organized by EFNT to support the students of Dallas ISD. Check out our Imaginuity Facebook page to see the photos of this fantastic event.
Later this week, I will also participate in Freedom Run, which is organized by the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. While a short 5k race is a small demonstration of appreciation, the money we raise for the Assist the Officer (ATO) organization will provide monetary assistance to the families of our local first responders who have been injured or killed in the line of duty.
While our nation suffered for many years since 2001, it has brought together a unity and strength among the diverse citizens of this great country. I am proud to be a part of the community services that are occurring this week and truly honored to work at a company understands the value of giving.
